Announcing AutoMarks.
The Location bar currently uses data in your history to perform auto-complete of urls as you type them in. If you dont have much history, the autocomplete feature starves and provides you little or no results. This extension allows you to add your bookmarks so they are included in the Autocomplete search.
How to use:
In Firefox:
In the Bookmarks menu, select the Copy bookmarks to Autocomplete.
It will prompt you to confirm, then proceed with the transfer.
In Mozilla:
In the Tools menu, select the Copy bookmarks to Autocomplete.
It will prompt you to confirm, then proceed with the transfer.
Once your bookmarks are transferred, just use the location bar as usual.
Install URL: Install AutoMarks 0.1
Jul 2008 NOTE: AutoMarks is DEAD. Firefox 3.0 now does this out of the box.(We recommend you upgrade to Firefox 3.0)

making it work in Deer Park/Firefox 1.5
Hi Colin
In Deer Park, a JavaScript object was renamed from "NC_NS" to "gNC_NS".
I found the extension worked in Deer Park Alpha 2 by editing content/automarks/automarks.js in the JAR file and changing the two occurrences of "NC_NS".

installation in Deer Park/Firefox 1.5
@amanuel
If you open the JavaScript Console, you'll notice the extension refers to a JavaScript object called NC_NS. Apparently this changed from NC_NS to gNC_NS in a recent version of Firefox.
I used 7-Zip to edit the XPI file and then the JAR file contained within and changed the two references in content/automarks/automarks.js then saved the file. I hope this works for you too.
Automarks in Deer Park Alpha 2
Hi amanuel,
I wanted to use your extension with Deer Park Alpha 2. After changing the max version to 1.2 in the install.rdf the extension installed but does not operate, it seems.
I'm not familiar with how extensions run but is there a way I could paste the function into Firefox somewhere and troubleshoot why it's not running.
(Or maybe you have a version upcoming or in beta......:)
Thanks,
Colin.
Update for Deer park?
